3 years later

It's my first time being part of a World Cup squad and to say I'm excited and nervous all rolled into one is an understatement. The past 3 years have been a crazy experience for me to be a part of.

I'm still playing at City but that's about to change now because I've been traded to Utah permanently. Kelley doesn't know about it yet and she won't until it's revealed soon after the world cup is over.

It's hard thinking about not playing for Man City and with my other family but I need to be back home in the states and with Kelley, especially with what I've got planned.

Yes, that's right, I'm proposing to Kelley. We've been together for almost 4 years now and I don't want to wait any longer. I've been talking to Chris and Tobin about it since I helped them get engaged they said they'd do the same thing for me.

Right now we're at the team hotel waiting for Jill to come in and talk to us all.

"so Mal how's the boyfriend" I hear Rose ask her best friend peaking my interest

"he's good actually, he did a major surgery the other day so he's been pretty tired," Mal tells Rose

If you're wondering who's she's talking about, yes it is Ryder, the pair got really close after the Olympics celebration and talked none stop. Then Ryder moved back to the states once her graduated to become a neurosurgeon.

It was a little weird to wrap my head around a first but I love the two of them together, they are perfect in my opinion.

"Welcome ladies to the World Cup!" Jill announces as she walks into the room.

"for some of you this is your third one while for others it's your first but it still doesn't change the outcome we want, and that's another win," Jill says looking around at her players

"we've got a lot of doubters thinking we can't win back to back World Cups but they said that about the Olympics and we went and proved them wrong so we're doing exactly that again," Jill tells us

"Your rooms are posted here and you can all thank Hayley for getting us an better room again," Jill says looking at me with a small smirk.

I check the list and see that I've got Christen as my roommate again which is great for me, we always work well together in a big tournament like this.

"come on roomie," She says with a smile on her face to me

"how you feeling Chris?" I ask her knowing this tournament is going to be harder for her than most

"I'm doing okay, it's difficult knowing moms not there cheering me on like she was last time," She tells me sadly and I just wrap an arm around her shoulder in comfort

"I know Chris, but she's looking down on you with a smile wishing you all the luck in the world I know it," I tell her

"what about you? Has Gwenyth tried to do anything?" She asks me making me let out a sigh

"Luckily not, she's just cut me out of her life completely," I say thinking back I when it all happened

You see she found out that Kelley and I were soulmates and didn't take it well at all, like most people in this world I was an abomination and didn't deserve to be here. She threatened to expose me but I blackmailed her a little and next thing I know I'm just cut off from her.
