Monday/12 months: 2 hours before flight back.
"This year- has gone by way to fast" Sage groans as she watches me pack.
"Yeah I agree ,honestly I don't think I'm ready to go back-" I laugh nervously before I pack my passport.
"Then don't go! Stay here until I get my passport sorted out and then we can go back together!" She whines and I shake my head as I smile at the girl.
"You know I can't- I need to see my mother and I promised the pouges that I'd be there as soon as there summer break starts" I side eye the girl as she huffs.

"Fine fine, I'll see you soon then, I'll text you when I've booked a flight" Sage hugs me and I hug back tighter.
"So you're leaving today?" I notice Jake walk in and I let go of Sage.
"Uh yeah" I cough awkwardly before I turn my back to him as I continue to pack.
I told him ages ago that I'd be going back to outer banks after school , we started to get really close as friends and I think he thought I'd never leave.
"You getting a taxi?" He sits on my bed before Sage sits on hers.

"Yeah I think so" I shrug before he tugs on my arm for me to look at him.
"You know I'm gunna miss your opinionated ass" he teases before standing and hugging me.
His arms wrap around my waist as mine go round his neck.
Sage gets up walking behind us , giving me the 'oooOooOoo' look , I roll my eyes as I pull away from the boy.
"Maybe you can come visit or something?" I ask the boy before he tenses.
"I dunno, it's a lot of money besides I should start looking at Uni's soon, but we will definitely stay in touch?"

I smile sadly at the boy but I just nod "yeah definitely I'll text you when I land, both of you" I look towards Sage who holds her thumb up.
"God this was a lot harder then last time-" a tear slips and they both hug me.
"Ouch I'll remember that-" Sage whispers and I laugh.
"No it's just , I ran away from London last time- and now I'm actually having to say goodbye" I pull away as they both look at me.

Time to leave:
"Bye" I laugh sadly before putting my last bag in the taxi.
"Kat-" Jakes voice cracks before he speaks.
"I'll regret not doing this so-" he coughs awkwardly before he kisses me softly.
It took me by surprise as we've only kissed once before.
His lips were warm as they grazed over mine.
"This isn't goodbye- not really" I nod at him as he tucks a strand of my hair behind my ear.
I can see Sage's face, wide eyes and a slight smirk.
"Bye idiot , I'll see you soon" I hug the girl as I put my last bag in the car.

"Love you guys" I smile at them both before getting in the taxi.
It didn't take long to get to the airport, as soon as I was there I Got sweets for the pouges and then I boarded my plane.
Here it goes.
I was taking the earliest flight, it took off at like 3am so then I'd get to Obx at lunch time around 12:30 am.
I slept the whole way there, I took a sleeping tablet to I wouldn't be as sleep deprived.
It lands and I get off waiting outside for a taxi.
I hadn't told me Father that I was back yet, he thought I had one more week in England.
I lied to him, I said classes were on for longer this year.

I just wanted one week, one week where no one except my friends knew I was in outer banks.
No drama nothing.
I make sure the taxi drops me off on the pouge side so I don't run into any kooks.
I see Jb's house and practically burst into a sprint.
"Guys!" I drop all my stuff as I see them outside.
They all turn and there faces light up, I think I actually saw JJ throw his beer.
"Kat!" I hear Pope shout before they all run into my body, tackling me to the ground as they embrace me in a tight hug.

"You're back!!!" I hear kie mumble into my neck with joy.
"You got one more beer?" I laugh and Sarah helps me up.
"Of course we do!" John b smiles as he throws me one.
"Your so pale!" JJ teases as he touches my cheek.
"There isn't much sun in England!" I defend myself as we clang all our beers together.
"Too the best summer break!" We say in unison.
"So how was it?" Pope looks at me with curious eyes.
