"Eat as much as you want. I can always make some more" Yein's mother said, her kind voice soothing down Niki even more than he already was. The entire household had a very comfortable atmosphere to it and calmed him down in a way only his own house in Japan could. Everywhere he went, Yein's scent engulfed him in an instant. He liked it.

Niki's hands swiftly reached for the chopsticks, bot hesitating one second longer to try the nice woman's selfmade takoyaki. She had originally planned to simply bring us some pastries but after actually doing researches on what Enhypen's Niki liked, she changed her mind. She was surprised that her daughter showed up with a male friend, and they seemed rather close. It wasn't unusual for her to bring friends over to the café as she had done so during her highschool days aswell. But a male? She had never once been interested in the opposite gender. While other teenagers would usually start gathering their own experiences, she'd run from school, to the company for practice, to the café to help out and eventually back into her room to study.

She was a good daughter, always helping and doing her best when her mother knew she was the most busy in the household. Yein had always had a strong character and determination to achieve what she wished for. No matter how busy she'd be, she wouldn't stop. If she had really put her head into dating, then her mother was sure she'd have people standing in line for her.

"How is it? too salty?" The middle-aged woman asked, her eyes not leaving the male as he chewed the takoyaki thoroughly. He simply gave her a thumbs up before nodding aggressively at the woman. She couldn't help but flash him a satisfied smile.

"They taste like home" Niki said, his mouth still full.

"That's a solid compliment. I'll make you as much as you want, whenever you want. Since I know that it's probably hard going to Japan with how busy you are" The woman sighed before standing up from the dinning table. "I'll go back down, can't leave your father alone with the shop for too long" And with that, she left, leaving the two teenagers alone.

"You like it that much?" Yein asked, leaning onto the table from beside Niki, turning to him.

"Mother's cookings are always the best. Yours isn't an expection. It's really good" He complimented again, this time facing away from the food towards the female.

The blonde couldn't help but to wheeze at the male next to her, lightly. His cheeks were filled with food, signaling that he was sincere about his liking towards her mother's cooking. After the two had cleaned the guest room, the male's stomach hadn't stopped growling for even one second. She understood how he was feeling. He was hungry. Not just for food but for his family's love. His mother's love. He hadn't gotten any of that for years due to the pandemic regulations in the past years.

Before Yein knew, her hand had moved towards the male's head, patting it gently a few times. Niki, who hadn't expected it any more than the female, had his eyes wide open, staring down at his plate.

He hadn't gotten any head pats in a long time. His heigh kind of made it hard for people do it so and since no one had ever known that he actually loved them. He had an incredible weakness for them and right now he felt it the strongest, the feeling of longing. Longing for more. Missing the only people who would still pat his head once in a while despite his height. Missing his mom and sisters.

He gently leaned in, melting under his crush's touch. Who knew her pats would be even better than the ones he had gotten as a child. They weren't exactly better but they were different. It was a different kind of love behind them and he felt it as clear as sky.

Yein, who had noticed the change in Niki's face, couldn't help but to slip a small smile across her lips.

"Eat up. We'll walk quiet alot later" She smiled, retaking her hand for him to finally be able to finish his meal.
