Chapter Nineteen

"Hello?" You answered into the telephone. The number was unfamiliar to you but you decided to answer it anyways.

"(F/n), is that you? It's Nanaba, from the OBGYN." A sweet voice answered from the other end of the line. Your expression changed from disinterest to happy in a millisecond.

"Oh hello, I didn't recognize the number!"You smiled as you talked into the phone. It was different now that you had made your own friend, well you thought you two were friends.

"How are you? Is your little jellybean healthy and how's the morning sickness?"Nanaba asked with curiosity. You frowned when she mentioned morning sickness.

It had been hitting you hard after Kenny had left yesterday. The anxiousness from him going over to Levi's made you frightened and scared. He had promised not to tell Levi but hell, you could never trust an Ackerman.

"It's been rough,but I'm getting through it. As for my jellybean, the little one is making movements that feel like twitching in my stomach. It only makes it seem more real knowing that I have something growing inside me." You spoke into the phone, still smiling as you carried out the conversation with Nanaba.

"You'll get through it, but it's all worth it in the end."Nanaba spoke words of wisdom in the phone, while you rubbed the little bump on your belly.

You laughed as she talked about silly stories on how Mike reacted her being pregnant and how he babied her all of the time. You couldn't help but frown cause you didn't have that stability with a guy to treat you like a princess.

"So, Mike and I were wondering if you wanted to go shopping for maternity clothes like you said, and if you have any girlfriend you wanna bring along, that's fine with me. The more the merrier." Nanaba said in a sing song voice.

You hadn't talked to Hanji in a while so you decided to call her after the conversation with Nanaba.

"I'll meet you at the mall around one."You confirmed with Nanaba. After getting the information settled, you hung up the phone and dialed Hanji's number.

"Hello?"Hanji's voice startled you as it sounded dull. You furrowed your eyebrows as you talked into the phone, asking her what's wrong.

"Nothing's wrong and I'm busy, don't talk to me."Hanji said, before hanging up on you. You had a shocked expression and couldn't help but let the tears fall down your face.

She was your best friend from college and now she didn't even want to speak to you. Her voice held so much venom in it and you didn't even know what you did wrong.

You wiped the tears away from your face and went to the bedroom to take a shower and get dressed for the shopping day with Nanaba and Mike. You took off all your clothes and looked in the mirror.

Your belly was growing and you thought it was adorable, except the stretch marks that were starting to show as you progressed in your pregnancy. You hopped in the shower and started washing your body.

"Got to make sure jellybean is clean."You said as you lathered soap on your hand and rubbed it in your belly around and around. You smiled softly and started washing your hair.

After you were done, you grabbed a towel and wrapped it around you and walked to the dresser. You grabbed a loose tee and some leggings so the bump wasn't in the way. You applied natural make up and brushed your teeth.

You grabbed your purse and phone and walked out of the house and to your car. You got into the car and started the engine making it roar to life. You backed out of the driveway and headed towards the mall.

You drove to the well known mall in your area that you and Levi used to go to get furniture for the house that you had shared together. You got out of the car and closed the door behind you, making your way inside the mall.

Nanaba and Mike were waiting patiently in the front of the mall entrance. Mike sniffed the air and turned in your direction smiling, before turning back to Nanaba and tapping her shoulder to get her attention.

Her eyes looked at Mike for a moment before he nodded in your direction making Nanaba turn to you. Her eyes gleamed as she waddled over to you with open arms.

"(F/n), it's so good to see you again and you're glowing!"She said with a happy attitude. It was nice getting out of the house and you were going to treat yourself to some new clothes and also look at baby items.

"It's good to see you also."You said as you gave her a hug. She backed away after the hug and looked around as if she as looking for someone.

"Were is your husband or boyfriend? I'm dying to meet him."Nanaba said as her eyes scanned behind you, looking for Levi, who wasn't here and never would be.

"Um, we're not together anymore."You stated, looking away from Nanaba as you waited for her disappointed look, but it never came.

"Oh well, who needs him."Nanaba said as she grasped Mike's hand a beckoned you to follow her. You made your way through crowds of people before you reached the maternity store.

Nanaba and Mike were having a conversation between themselves as you walked into the store and made your way to the shirts. You picked through your favorite color items and went up to the dressing room and tried them on.

"(F/n), I want to see how they look on you!"Nanaba yelled. Her action made someone else in the dressing room listen. You walked out of the dressing room and showed her the shirt that looked perfect on you.

After taking off the shirt and putting it on the hanger, you started to look for maternity pants that would look good on you. You and Nanaba continued to look through the shirts and pants while Mike commented on how beautiful Nanaba looked in the shirts. Her swollen belly poking out of the T-shirt.

You didn't notice someone come behind you and tap you on the shoulder and when you turned around, you were both frightened and shocked to see who was there.

"Hello (F/n)."The familiar person said as they looked at your belly. You gulped and looked away to see Nanaba and Mike giving you a worried look, seeing you in the state you were in.

"Hello Petra."
