40| Last Minute Changes

Since our flight was so long yesterday and the first thing me and Charles did when we got to the hotel was fall right back asleep, when we woke up it was 10 pm in the US. The wedding was not for another 2 days so we had all the time in the world to sleep in like this. The only problem was that we were both wide awake and bored. 

"I have an idea" I say to Charles who was currently looking at the ceiling out of boredom. "Shoot" He says. "So I saw this thing where couples go to the store and split up to go pick out a bunch of things for the other person like favorite candy and drink you know ect. What if we do that and then come back and decide on a movie and games and things" 

"I mean it sounds fun so why not. Do you wanna go right now or wait a while?" He asks me. I nod and get up. I signal for him to through me his sweatshirt and he tosses it towards me while putting his shoes on. I pull it on and it reaches down to my mid thigh which covers the shorts underneath. 

I pull the hood up because it was a bit cold outside and I was not having the best hair day. Charles also pulls up his hood to not get noticed out in public. I put my shoes on and we head out the door. After walking out of the very empty hotel we look for a little corner store but end up just walking to a supermarket. 

"Ok I texted you a list of thing you need to get and what you think I'll like so we'll need to split up. But we'll meet back here in 10 minutes ok" I say to him. He nods and we go off. 

I go first to find a drink that he will like. I look through the fridges and find rose tea that I know Charles would love because he always love to drink different types of tea whether it is cold or hot. 

Next I went and picked out a sweatshirt for him in a bright red color that would fit him well. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a figure running down the halls. I turn to look and saw that it was Charles sprinting to the drink section. 

I roll my eyes and head down to the ice cream. I grabbed his favorite caramel and vanilla ice cream then quickly headed to the snacks. This is where I intended to have the most fun. I grabbed him bags of popcorn some cookies and candies. Then I got him a huge blanket that I knew I was going to steal sooner or later. And just for the fun of it I got him a few face masks. 

I went to go check out and found Charles waiting with a few bags in his hands. I quickly pay for the stuff and hide them from Charles walking out so he can't see anything. After walking back to the hotel and getting up into the room we begin to unpack our things. 

"Ok first what drinks did we get" I ask him digging around in my bags for his. We both sit on opposite sides of the bed in order to give space to each other for our stuff. He pulls out a large vanilla iced coffee for me and I got excited. I handed him his iced tea and he grinned happily. I gladly took mine and put it to the side for later. 

Next we took out the snacks. We both bought each other about 10 different thing that we both loved. Charles also bought me five Snicker bar and an entire box of Reeses because he knew that they were my favorite. I placed it near my drink and next we pulled out a little gift for each other. 

Charles pulled out a whole bunch of things. He got me a new sweater, blanket, slippers, a drinking cup, candle, and a few face masks. I felt really bad because I only got him a few things. He reassured me that he loves them and that this was a great idea. 

I took out the ice cream for him and he take it from me. I turn the TV on and put Netflix on. We decide on one of the Batman movies as we both liked these action movies. I convinced Charles to do a face mask with me while we watched. It didn't take a lot of convincing before he agreed to let me do it on him. I pulled it out of the packet and placed it on his face.
