—'{ chapter  twenty four }'—

we walked back into the chatue to find kie, john b and pope collecting items like they were about to leave "where y'all heading" i ask from jj's side "john bs hungry so we're going to restaurant to see if my dad can give us food" kie responds "y'all coming" pope asks as they start to walk past

before i have the chance to decline their offer jj's pulling me with him as we follow the others "you said free food i'm in" jj hollers and i just look at him with a smile

i love this boy with all of my heart and possibly more it's extremely hard for me to even believe i'm with him right now i've wanted this my whole life and now it's finally here but i almost feel guilty like i don't deserve him or anything he's ever done for me but i'm not gonna let that ruin this because i need this i need him

i woke up on jj's lap not even remember that i fell asleep in the twinkie but we had now arrived at the wreck "stealing drowns makes you hungry" kie chuckles "nope going to a kook party makes me starving" i joked because unlike the others that's what i did after our encounter at the junk yard

"what i would do to a beer and shrimp and grits right now" jj says as we climb out "it would not be pretty" pope comments "i agree with pope and j you don't need a beer your good" i say holding onto his hand as he looks down at me and smiles "of course princess"

we all follow kie inside and once we're in the boys leave us to go hide in a corner but kies parents love me so i stayed by her side "hi mr c" i said after kie "hi brooklyn lovely seeing you tonight" he says i nod and then tuned out the conversation between the two because it had to do with the wreck and their own personal family things

i stared off the entire time until kie erupted in thank you's so i figured he said yes i smiled "thank you mr c" i said following kie

her face went stern as all the boys were watching us "sit down" she says and they scramble to the open table as we walked towards them

"princess i saved you a seat right here next to me" jj smiles gesturing to the chair next to him i gladly sit in it

sooner than later the food came and we all ate like hungry pigs john b and jj started a food fight (very minimal) and kie got up every once in a while to refill our drinks

kie comes over to fill jj's water and then sets the pitcher down then points to john b signaling him to come dance to which leaves me and jj confused looking between the two

i really need to ask kie abt this thing with her and john b but i held back for now as john b got up to go dance with her "i don't think i've ever seen john b dance" i whispered to jj

JJ let's out a chuckle before replying "me either" and before i can process anything jj's up on his feet near our two other friends "may i have this dance" jj asks and i smile "well of course maybanks" i say taking his hand and following him towards the "dance floor"

"pope get your butt over here and dance with us" i yell and he scurried over

this felt right, me being here with these 4 other people dancing late at night it truly did feel right it felt like all my worries had faded away and i could finally live a happy little life

AUTHORS NOTE: hey guys so so sorry for the slow update i know i said i'd focus mainly on this book it's just been a very eventful summer my parents are trying to make the best of it and once again it's very hard to write these chapters on my phone but here is a quick little one to fufill your needs hope you all are having a terrific summer and will see you in the next one
