Event: On August 3rd, a selfie taken by Park Seonghwa of Ateez, consisting of him and Haerin was leaked to the public through an anonymous source. The picture below depicts what the public believes to be a date at the popular dog cafe, Bau House.

After this photo went viral in the Kpop community, both JYPE and KQE released statements claiming that the two were just friends. Not long after, a staff of KQ was fired for releasing the private photo, which had been taken from Seonghwa's phone without his permission or knowledge.
Public Response: Positive- 85% • This picture mostly brought Stays and Atiny closer together as sister fandoms, as many of them supported the thought of the two being a couple. Although the two were claimed to be just friends, Staytinys used this photo as encouragement that their faves had strong bonds with each other.
Negative- 15% • Some overly possessive "fans" on both sides did not like the idea of the two seeing each other, and actively voiced their opinions.
Reality: In real life, Seonghwa had asked Haerin on a date to the dog cafe as speculated. At the time, the two held interest in each other, and wanted to see where it would go. When the picture of them was leaked to the public, the two idols agreed to avoid dating as to not stir up anymore heat between the fandoms, and told their respective companies that they were just friends. The two currently have a non-labeled relationship, meaning that if the situation was to be in their favor, then they would willingly become a couple. However, as of today, Seonghwa and Haerin are remaining as friends.
