We arrive at the stadium to do a pre-game workout and prepare for our match. Once we've got a rhythm going, we decide to start padding up thirty minutes before the match starts.

"Sebby," we hear a whisper in the locker room. We turn out heads to see Luna sneaking in, like she always does before a match, but this time, with Kaitlyn in tow, looking... really good.

Dark hair tied up. Her face in subtle make up that makes her blue eyes pop out a little. A black trench coat to go with a brown tank top and beige sweat-shorts.

Our eyes lock, and I raise a brow. She gives me an amused side smile as she quickly runs over. "Apparently, we could get into a lot of trouble for this, but Luna said this was a ritual for her, and that if I didn't come, you'd lose. So you can't lose now."

What does this do to me?

I don't know. But it does something.

And then she kind of stuns me by giving me a soft kiss on the lips. "Also a ritual, apparently," she says quietly before standing straight up.

"She learns fast," Luna chuckles. "All the best, Xav. Sebby. Cart. Hawk. Collin. Everyone," making us chuckle.

"All the best," Kaitlyn says to me on a breathe before she's getting pulled out by Luna.

When I say Xavier kills it, I mean it. It's like he comes roaring out onto the rink, and he commands everyone's attention like he's the main attraction. Alongside Sebastian and Carter. The six of them, including James, Baylor and Hawk, are an amazing opening team, building up to 2-0 against Florida State School.

End of second period, they are 4-1, Xavier and Sebastian sitting out and Collin playing for a little while, scoring one of those goals which literally caused an eruption of hoots and cheers. Especially from Luna and I.

Midway through the third, when my heart is racing from the adrenaline due to the atmosphere in the arena, I've got a sudden urge to pee. "Hey," I turn to an absorbed Luna.

"Yeah?" She turns to me.

"I've got to use the bathroom, okay? I'll be right back." And she gives me a nod.

I go out the doors and walk down the corridor, and feel my skin prickle. I turn around suddenly, but nobody is following me.

I frown, and walk toward the washroom again, but I feel eyes on me still, making me nauseous. I turn, but nobody is in the corridors except cleaners far away.

Weird.

I enter the bathroom and do my thing. Then I come out, wash my hands, when the door opens. And my heart stops.

Connor enters the bathroom, Dexter in tow.

My eyes widen, and my heart beats like a crazy person.

"Kaity," Dexter says curtly.

"What are you doing here?" I ask, trying to keep my voice stable. I really don't feel safe here with these two. Alone.

"Thought we'd drop by and have a look at the shitshow Xavier is putting on," Connor smirks. "Gotta say, don't see what the appeal is. Meanwhile, when we play football, you can actually see how built we are," he chuckles with Dexter.
