The coffee shop was packed with people ready to order on this Tuesday morning. Trinity's fingers tapped lightly against her coffee cup as she sat watching people go in and out in a hurry to make their 9 to 5's. She would be heading to practice today but just as expected she got fired that next morning.

They terminated her immediately with one last check.

No last game.

No ability to explain herself.

Told her she couldn't apply to them again.

The day she was fired, she was advised to clean out her small working space. Practice was going on at the time so most of the players exchanged goodbyes with her considering how much they liked her - and was attracted to her - being sad to see her leave.

Elias was the only who didn't speak, pretending he didn't know her and continued on about his day like nothing was going on knowing it was eating him up inside.

But if he wanted to play that game with her, she had no problem.

"Iced Mocha for Charity." Trinity's ears perked up at the name as she brought her attention to a woman in a business suit with her phone to her ear as she reached for her coffee, thanking the worker.

Something about her feels familiar.

Trinity felt like she was looking at herself in the mirror. The woman had the same complexion, same nose, same small birthmark on her neck, same natural hair color. It was as if she was looking at herself ten years from now.

She didn't really think she'd be in San Diego still nor did she think she'd ever run into her.

The wedding ring on her finger and the photo on the back of her phone case of her and her other children made Trinity's heart drop to her stomach.

This was just confirmation that neither of them truly wanted her. They wanted kids but just not her.

Nobody wanted her it felt like.

Not her biological mother and father. Not her ex. Not the five adoption homes she grew up in and hopped around from. Not The Spartans.

And damn sure not Elias Cains.

"Trinity," A voice snapped her out of her thoughts as she looked up and was met with Stephen, from the party, who was smiling but that quickly faded seeing the tear on her cheek. He sat down in the seat across from her and leaned in, "You okay? What's wrong?"

She chuckled and tried to cover up with a smile wiping the singular tear on her face away. "Nothing....just in my head that's all. I brought you a coffee. I didn't know what you like so I took a wild guess." She spoke with a smile, and he nodded his head thanking her.

Not pressing any further than he should, Stephen just let it be. It was no secret to him or anyone else that she was going through a breakup and with a famous football player at that.

"Well, if you need a friend, I'm here." He gave a smile and took the coffee. "But ready to head out? This like the only free hour on his schedule today." She nodded her head and the two stood up making their way to his office building for her interview.

It was a quick two minute walk so they were more than just on time.

The second they walked into the ESPN building; it was exactly how she imagined. Besides the workers, TV screens lined almost every wall showcasing every sport.
