The Anderson family sat on the very last pew of Greater New Zion Baptist church, the church Rihanna grew up attending. The small family tries to attend every Sunday and today they made it to the mega-church before going to upstairs seating.
"Mama Riri can I sit by Zozo?" Kari asked coming to the pew with his parents behind him. The family of five were all coordinating with the color green.
"Wassup" Dakari spoke to Kormani while moving past him to sit next to Zoriana
"Nothing lil nigga, she been unblocked you huh?" Kormani asked watching his daughter's face light up
"Yeah" Dakari smiled
"Hey fat mama," he said putting his arm around her
"Hi Kari," she said back before listening to the pastor as he began his sermon
"God I pray my words come from you to lead your people in the right direction," Pastor Gaines said his quick prayer before opening his bible
The sermon was about not having restraint with God, asking and believing for the desires of your heart because he is limitless. Worshipping him for what he's done for you and not what he can do. The teens listened the entire time applying the word to their desires.
Dakari applied it to his future career, God makes no mistakes and mistakes are not of God. He learned to not limit or downplay his dream to one day play in the NBA. With God all things are possible and he prays for one specific goal to be accomplished when all of his goals can be met.
Zoriana applied the sermon to her future, she's always focused on the future not being able to live in the gift of the present. She puts limits on herself now she's a long-term thinker when God can give her the desires of her heart today.
"God we thank you for that word today. I asked that every ear that heard your word apply it to their life today lord you are limitless. Your amazing grace is too precious for us. We thank you for another chance, God. Lord, I ask that you bless every heart that accepted your word today Father. God I ask that you continue to bless us on our endeavors in Jesus's name, Amen" the Co-pastor prayed dismissing the church after the sermon was over
"Whew I was getting sleepy" Zoriana mumbled laying her head on Dakari's shoulder
"You look good mama," he said she smiled but was thumped by her father
"Dad" she pouted touching her forehead where he thumped her
"Zoriana," he said as Rihanna's mom and dad approached them
"Granny girl sit up off of that young man," Daisy said
"Ma that's her friend," Rihanna said defending her child
"Okay but still get up please, pawpaw and I want to know why y'all were so late?" Daisy asked
"Ion wanna know shit," Dennis said making his wife give him a disappointing look
