"Oh my gosh, I'm so excited".
I said jumping up and down as we was getting ready to head to the airport.
"You sure you got everything"?
"I'm sure".
"Positive"?
"I have everything dad".
He nodded just standing there.
"If you need anything call me ok"?
"I will".
"I mean like immediately, I'll be on the first flight".
"Dad, stop".
I said laughing at his paranoia.
"Make sure you keep a pocket knife, pepper spray, brass knuckles, an- wait, you want my gun"?
"Oh my- August and Adonis will be with me at all times".
"And I promise to call if they get us into any trouble, I'll call you on my birthday and I'll text whenever to let you know I'm ok".
"Alright, that's good".
He was about to say something else but I stopped him.
"Aht aht, that's all".
"I was just bouta say let me know y'all plane land and that I love you but now you can go to hell".
"I love you too dad".
I said laughing and going to hug him but he thumped my forehead and walked away.
"Rude".
"You ready"?
August asked coming in to get my last bag.
"I'm ready".
"Bye dad, I love you"!

I shook my head closing the door behind us and headed to DJ's truck.
"Hey DJ, CJ didn't wanna ride"?
"He wit his hoe right now but he said to tell you have a good birthday".
He said handing me two rolls of money.
"Aw y'all didn't need to give me money".
"Girl get this shit".
He said tossin it in my lap makin me laugh and thank him.
I settled between Don and August and laid my head on August's shoulder.
He rested his hand on my inner thigh squeezing it.
