“Hey lovey”, Tierra smiled getting into her friend, Selenaʼs car

“Oyo, te ves lindo”, Helen smiled driving

Tierra chuckled, “Huh?”. She never understood when Helen spoke in Spanish, if anything she only understood when she cussed

Helen scoffed, “I said you look cute”. Tierra wore a denim mini skirt with an oversized varsity jersey and sneakers

Tierra blushed, “Thank you”. She liked it when she was complimented, it helped with her self-imagery a lot

Helen nodded her head, “We're picking up Selena too”. They were going to Helen's boyfriend's homeboy's welcome-back party

Tierra did not know who the homeboy was but she was well aware of Helen's boyfriend, Roman. He and Helen had been dating for almost four years.

They arrived at Selenaʼs home and waited for her to come out.

Soon enough, Selena made her way out of the house and got into the backseat of the car.

Selana closed the car door, “Hey, lovies”. She said

Tierra waved, “Hiya”. She smiled at her friend

“Oyo te ves lindo”, Helen said as she drove to Roman's house

Helen and Tierra shared a laugh, “She said you look cute”, Tierra translated

Selena smiled, “Aww, thank you. You guys do too”. She gushed looking at her friends

With small conversation, the girls arrived at Roman's house.

They got into his house and saw his mother, Regina setting food on the dinner table while Roman helped setting the plates, cups and utensils.

Roman noticed the three girls and went over to them, “Wassup y'all”. He'd given Tierra and Selena a side hug and kissed Helen on her forehead.

“So which homeboy we came here for cause I ain't know Nas went to jail”, Selena asked mentioning one of Roman's bestfriends, Nas

Roman waved her off, “Nas ain't locked up. Baby, remember Shakur?”. Roman asked Helen

Helen nodded her head, “Miss Afaniʼs son?”. Helen asked

Roman nodded his head, “Yeah, he got released today so we throwing him a welcome back party”. Roman explained

Selena snapped her fingers, “Oh, I know him. I remember sitting in the car while he and Nas were making plays one day”

“But this don't seem like a party though, it's small”, Selena huffed

Tierra shrugged, “Maybe Shakur was not a fan of many people”. She said analyzing the room, it was them including Regina and two other women.

Roman nodded his head, “You right and that's because he's awkward as hell so it's just been me, him and Nas plus he wouldn't have wanted people he wasn't close with celebrating him”. Roman said looking at his phone, “Shit, Ma!, Nas and Shakur pulling up in a min!”. He stressed

Regina dusted her hands and ran over to him with the two other women following, “The foodʼs already done, we good. Hey girls”. Regina acknowledged them

The girls smiled, “Hey Gina”. they greeted

“Hi, I'm Shakur's mom, Afani. I just wanted to thank you girls for coming to celebrate my son's return”, Miss Afani said
